End of Term 2 Updates:

Good Morning Parents! Just a few reminders for the end of term:

  • I have updated the ‘Homework Page’ on this website so it now includes the NEW TERM 3 News telling topics, as well as all 5 levels of sight words. Your child’s news day will remain the same.

  • Helping Hands is a program designed to help our students understand that there are people in need who will benefit from understanding their perspective.  The first Helping Hands free dress day will be Tuesday 27th June for a gold coin donation.  We would like community members to nominate charities or community ventures they may feel could benefit from our Helping Hands Project. The support program will be randomly selected from the suggestions received. Suggestions should be emailed to Tania.Burke@education.wa.edu.au.

  • Reports will be sent home next week (week 10). If your child will not be at school, they will be posted out to you.

Have a fabulous break and I will see you all next term!

A great start to Year 3!

Good afternoon everyone!

I just wanted to say a BIG thank-you to all students in LA26 for making such a great start to Year 3. Have a fantastic holiday and we’ll see you next term.

Handed out to your child today are the news topics for Term 2 – but they are also on this blog under the ‘Homework Routines’ page.

Don’t forget there is also a ‘NAPLAN Preparation’ page for ANY extra support you/your child may wish to view.

Mentions will also be made of happenings within the school community that relate to LA 26, however please refer to the school newsletter for a detailed account of all things happening across all year levels of the school.

Please regularly check this blog page as we will be putting most notes on here to help ‘save the trees!’ Alternatively, you can request that this blog can be automatically emailed to you whenever a post (or message) has been written. If you wish to take advantage of this automatic blog email, click the ‘FOLLOW’ button to the right of this message.

We hope you get a lot out of this site as you explore it with your parents. If you have any suggestions or questions please let me know by adding to the post on the site.

Class Party Week 9

ThankYou

Dear Everyone,

Well the Semester is coming to an end and I will be very sad to leave all of the children but I promise I will come back with bub to visit later in the year!

To celebrate the end of a fantastic Semester, we will be having a class party next FRIDAY 5th JULY.

It would be fantastic if each child could bring a small ‘something’ in to share with the class for lunch on this day. Please refer to the note in your child’s communication book for what your child is asked to bring in.

Thanks, any questions just let me know!

Week 4 Term 2

As part of Landsdale Primary’s fantastic new I-Values program, LA26 was lucky enough to gain $100 towards our classroom budget. This was due to Lachie’s playground token being drawn from all entries at the end of Term 1.

LA26 students took part in a vote and I am delighted to announce that we spent the money on new sports equipment for our class. As you can see from the photo below, all students were VERY excited about the new equipment!

Week 3 Term 2

Good morning!

Just a couple of reminders for next week:

1) Thank-you to all of those parents who are ensuring their child has prepared and rehearsed their news reading to speak to the class every MONDAY morning.   Students are welcome to bring in photos, drawings or objects, however no written material is permitted as I am assessing their speaking and listening skills, rather than their reading skills. Children tend to read straight of a piece of paper if they have their speech written in front of them.

Week 4 News Topic – Maths – A Favourite Card or Board Game: Bring along your favourite game to share with your friends. You must know how to play it and be able to explain the rules.

2) Our Foodbank Collection has begun and we would love to get the message across to the school community about helping less fortunate people who may not have enough food. We are asking for donations of canned food (tuna, evaporated milk, baby food, tinned vegetables etc) as well as dry food such as pasta, cereal and rice.  Click on the picture below to find out more about Foodbank WA.

Have a fantastic weekend and I will see you all next week!
